The Telecommunications Department is responsible for the installation, maintenance and service of the
telephone systems used by all Lake County offices. In addition, Telecommunications maintains and services the security equipment located in the County Jail,
Minimum Security Jail, Juvenile Justice Building, Courthouse, and Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
Responsibility for the 800 MHz radio and Emergency Siren paging systems belongs to Telecommunications, because of their technical expertise, . The 800 MHz System is the emergency radio system used by all Public Safety Departments and Agencies, as well as school buses, located in Lake County. This system enables safety forces to coordinate their efforts in the event of an emergency.
