Duties & Staffing

The Department of Central Purchasing uses the power of volume buying to save the County and it's taxpayers money. One factor that helps to deter costs is the elimination of the expensive small emergency purchases. By maintaining a warehouse of supplies frequently used by the County offices, the Department of Central Purchasing is poised to meet department needs.

In addition to purchasing supplies and equipment for County offices, Central Purchasing prepares bid documents and coordinates the bidding process with the Commissioners' Clerk for large items such as trucks, cars, and various equipment.
