Duties & Staffing

General Communications handles all incoming and outgoing mail for the Lake County Offices. In addition, they pick up and deliver mail to all County offices housed in the Administration Center, the Court House, and the Jail. The Mail Room averages 37,800 pieces of outgoing mail each month.

Employees of this department also operate the central telephone switchboard, providing assistance to hundreds of citizens each day.

In 1995, this department was moved outside of the general fund. Its revenues come from a general fund subsidy and user fees.
