          Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Lake County Commissioners at their office in the Lake County Administration Center, 105 Main St., 4th Floor, Painesville, Ohio  44077, until 11:00 a.m., current local time, on the 4th day of June 2008, for sufficient quantities of

Organic Polyelectrolytes (Polymer) for the Lake County Department of Utilities

Gary L. Kron Water Reclamation Facility,

to de-water 5,000 tons of anaerobically digested sludge and to concentrate 3,000 tons of waste activated sludge.         

 

Bid specifications and bid forms are available for polymers at the Lake County Department of Utilities, 105 Main St., 2nd Floor, Painesville, Ohio  44077-0490, or at the Gary L. Kron Water Reclamation Facility, 8471 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor, Ohio  44060, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Bench tests trials can be scheduled by contacting Thomas H. Furlong, Plant Superintendent, at 440-257-5506 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

 

          Bid proposals must be accompanied by Certified Check, Cashiers Check, Money Order or an Irrevocable Letter of Credit made payable to the County of Lake or by an original Bid Bond in favor of the County of Lake and signed by a Surety Company licensed to do business in the State of Ohio, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid, conditioned such that the successful bidder shall execute a contract in conformity with the invitation and the successful bid. 

 

          Proposals shall be addressed to Ms. Amy Elszasz, Clerk, Board of Lake County Commissioners, 105 Main St., 4th Floor, Painesville, Ohio  44077-0490, and be clearly marked with the item being bid.

           

          Bid proposals shall be subject to the condition that the right is reserved to hold bids for a period not longer than sixty (60) days after date of opening and/or to award the bid contract at any time during that period.  The Board of Lake County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids received, and to accept any bid which it deems to be in the best interest of Lake County.  No bidder shall be considered a responsive and responsible bidder or eligible to be awarded the contract to which this Notice or Bid specifications apply, if the bidder is listed on the Auditor of State’s Database as having an unresolved “Finding of Recovery” as that term is defined in R.C.9.24.  No bidder shall be considered a responsive and responsible bidder or eligible to be awarded the contract to which this Notice or Bid Specifications apply unless the bidder has completed a certification that the bidder is in compliance with R.C. 3517.13  A copy of the certification is included with the instructions to bidders and must be submitted with the bid.
